Help with setting up a league settings

I want to start a league in 1871 and move to current day. Which seems like a historical league. However I dont mind if fake players appear and am not looking for a strict historical replay. Also I would like real players to come about and work their way up through the minors etc.

Not sure how to set this up. Help?

ok i think i have figured it out except for the whole amateur draft. I read through the manual and if someone could provide some insight i would appreciate it.

The players in the amateur draft are those based on their first year in the pros or does it insert guys a few years prior so they need seasoning in the minors?

I think to do it like that i need to use one of those other databases, if someone could enlighten me if i am right and or how to use those other 2 databases i would appreciate it.

If you use the default Lahman, they'll enter the year they make their MLB debut. You can alternately use one of Gambo/Spritze databases which offers everyone entering at high school age or their real pro debut.
