Quick Question About Stadiums
I'm not really new to the game, as I've been playing a while, but I do have a question that might be somewhat Noobian in nature.
Anywho, what I'm wondering is: does the AI build new stadiums for teams as the game progresses, or is it on me, as commish, to take care of all that? I've noticed that, if I've got all the right boxes checked, expansion teams can join my league automagically, and I'm assuming teams can relocate as well. Just curious if that applied to new stadiums as well. PS: Apologies in advance if this has been asked/answered/discussed before. ![]() ![]()

When teams relocate or rename themselves they usually build new stadiums. Capacity is normally somewhere around the average for attendance per game.
Personally I just create new stadiums for them. I recommend Gambo's stadium chart since it lists hundreds of stadiums and has a generator that creates park factors based on the fences, elevation, and how the ball carries to left, center, and right.

To my knowledge the AI wont build a new stadium for an existing team, Its something i would love to see added along with being able to negotiate Media Contracts. Or maybe even just add capacity to existing parks if available, maybe for 13.

I appreciate all the responses, thanks for the help there.
Guess for the sake of realism, I've been handling it myself this game anyway. Only hard part is coming up with cool names for all the stadiums... So far, the Agricultural Grounds at Brouthers Park is my favorite.

I've been getting around the whole adding capacity thing by building oversized stadiums to begin with, and letting the teams grow into them. Seems to work for the most part. Sadly, the aforementioned Agricultural Grounds at Brouthers Park has just seen its last season, as the Lexington Sycamores have officially moved into the much larger Sycamore Fields for the 1920 season. It's the end of an era.

Another thing I like to do is pay homage to/shamelessly rip off (depending on your perspective) classic stadiums: I have the Manhattan Polo Grounds, world-famous home of the You-Know-Whos, (see avatar), Tibbett's Field in Brooklyn, Sportsman's Field in St. Louis, and Crosland Park in Cincinnati.

edit: Well Minneapolis and St. Paul are American Association teams but you get the idea.

For my league where I use those stadiums they are Giants Stadium (Polo), George M. Steinbrenner III Park (guess), Water Tower Field ( Wrigley) and Fenway is Luck of The Irish Park.
teams in those parks are Giants, Yankees, Fire & Fightin' Irish. |
