We can host your OOTP league (website and forum) for FREE!
Hello all,
I'm in the process of starting a sports forum and would love to host an OOTP league (or a few) on it. The forums will be located on our site: www.sportsncash.com/forums and I can create an FTP account for you to upload any and all league files. I can help recruit a little as well (I'd be able to find 3-5 good experienced GM's). If you are interested contact me via PM here, AIM (Phill11SNC) or register on the forums above and get a hold of me there. Thanks for your interest! -Phill

I had an idea that I wanted to turn into an OOTP11 league, going to post about it on the forums later today but maybe it's something that you would like to be involved with.
Historical Draft League with a storyline twist - starting in 1995 taking place as result of the player strike in '94-95. 26 teams primarily in the same markets as the real major league teams that existed at the time. The powers that be decide to go all-in and start a new league to lure the players in the MLBPA facing a 1995 season that could have been played with replacement players. So you'll have the same markets you're used to, as similar to the original teams colors / concept as creatively possible - but instead of American League and National League, you have Western Conference and Eastern Conference, each split into 3 divisions. Something like this (not set on the names and am willing to compromise, but again the idea is that the teams could be similar to the existing MLB teams): ULB Western Conference Pacific Division San Francisco (replacing Giants) Los Angeles (replacing Dodgers) San Diego (replacing Padres) Oakland (replacing A's) Rocky Division Denver Avalanche (replacing Rockies, NHL Avalanche didn't exist back in '95) Phoenix Sidewinders (Arizona didn't have a team but needed extra West team) Seattle Pilots (replacing Mariners, some Mariners are called Pilots) Kansas City Monarchs (replacing Royals) Midwest Division Houston Stars (Replacing Astros) Texas Marshalls (Replacing Rangers) St. Louis Redbirds (Replacing Cardinals) Minnesota Metro (Replacing Twins) Eastern Conference Atlantic Division New York Pinstripes (Replacing Yankees & Mets, better name?) Boston (Replacing Red Sox, undecided on name) Atlanta Chiefs (Replacing Indians) Orlando Sharks (Replacing Marlins) Appalachian Division Philadelphia Liberty (Replacing Phillies) Pittsburgh Batsmen or Buccaneers (Replacing Pirates, Batsmen could be the Batman logo which is yellow and black, or they could just be the Bucs) Cleveland Tribe (Replacing Indians) Cincinatti Scarlet (Replacing Reds) Central Division Chicago Blue Sox (Replacing Cubs & Sox, better name?) Detroit Jaguars (Replacing Tigers) Milwaukee Crew (Replacing Brewers) Toronto Blues (Replacing Blue Jays) Each league will have 3 division winners and a wild card like the rule adopted by MLB in 1994 that still exists to this day. Interleague Play would start immediately. League would draft from the players available in 1995 - first two rounds allows you to pick two players from your market, after that it's a full-out serpentine draft! For instance, the Chicago owner will have to select two players from the Cubs & White Sox rosters as they stood on August 12, 1994. New York from the Yankees and Mets. Boston from the Red Sox. Montreal is the only city that has been contracted and Phoenix is the only market that doesn't really exist in 1995 (this was done to give the West an extra team - I had to reluctantly move St. Louis, KC, and Minnesota west because it was too east heavy) so Phoenix, as the odd team out will get to pick from the Montreal roster. Those two players would get a "ULB Inaugural Clause" 7-year-contract at their existing salary level with a no-trade clause. So unless that player retires or you release them, they will be a member of your ballclub until the end of the 2001 season so select carefully! This is just part of the concept, will put together the full details shortly (and name suggestions are welcome!) Let me know if this is something we could do or if I would be better off to start it elsewhere. Thank you! |

not sure if this offer is still available, but I'm interested in starting a player's league. In short, a player's league is where you get a community of people, each with a player in the game. People submit things such as articles pertaining to the league to get points and improve their player. My only hiccup is being a little rusty with web building and such, plus I'm in college so of course there's no extra money for hosting.
Maybe we can get something done, I'm certainly interested. PM me or AIM (jblazevfl) Take care. |
