Arrow SLCBA Begins 2nd Season With GM Openings

StatesLeague.com

The SLCBA is readying for the start of their 2nd season and is looking for GMs to fill several open spots.

The SLCBA is a 24 team states league, simming 4 OOTP days each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

We use OOTP11 and have no plans for a change.

The Free Agent Draft and bidding period starts tomorrow, Oct. 17, 2011, at 9pm EST.

Check us out at StatesLeague.com, grab an established team of fictional players and drive for the National Championship!

Thanks!
-walt

Arrow ME, NY, GA, and OK Await Challengers in the SLCBA!

Oklahoma boasts a veteran OOTP owner, Georgia has been named the team with the SLCBA's best minor league system, New York...well, they're New York - always in the middle of things, and Maine brings some very big lumber!

Does your state have the "stuff?"

Yeah good luck, I usually keep an eye on a league that I'm not in and I'm thinking the SLCBA will be that league. Hopeful of a Iowa v Nebraska championship series, not affiliated with any state but an Iowa, Nebraska match up just sounds right

Thanks, drop in anytime and check our how they are doing. Nebraska would most likely need to go the wildcard path and to the championship and Iowa...well, there's always next year.

however, left to chance and algorithms, who the hell knows.

now if this was the ncaa....

Yes, we were looking at a site in SD, however, Sioux Falls Mayor Huether wheeled his political power and "convinced" the city council and the Events Center Economic and Development Impact study group to nix the idea of a baseball stadium out near the Arena and Convention Center, the site we wanted. Seems they want a year-round facility to host diverse entertainment events, rather than put all their corn in one silo. they said we could use space downtown near Cherapa Place, but that wasn't very feasible.

sorry.

They say a better class of people actually come from North Dakota, now not living in America I can't confirm this. However living in the north of England I can say people from the north are usually of a better class

I will do that, oh reason behind Iowa is Field of Dreams and if there isn't a cornfield near by I will be upset Nebraska is down to one of the pitchersin The Natural being from Nebraska I think, but main reason I wrote a few articles about a player from Nebraska in an online league I was in.

The inaugural regular season of the SLCBA is very near as we finish up the 2011 spring training season sims tonight (Wed. 5/18).

We have 8 live GM's in a 24 team states league, so there is welcoming room for new players to start with a fresh team in a fresh league.

If spring training is any indication, it looks like there will be good races in each division and the wildcard in each league ought to be a wild shootout in itself.

Using fictional teams/players, the 100 game regular season (simming 2 SLCBA days/day, Mon.-Fri) will tend toward tight races with live GM's who like the daily managerial grind of a slow simming, short season.

If you're interested, we're located on the web: StatesLeague.com

thanks,
-walt

1st Regular Season Underway in the SLCBA

Spring training sims ended this week and the regular season got underway with 3
games played before weeks end.

The Wyoming Buffalo topped all spring training records with an
18-6 mark, while Arizona finished with 17, Illinois with 16,
Colorado with 16, and Virginia with 15.

The weak spot in the league this year could be in the SL Atlantic
Division as no team was able to make the .500 mark in spring
training; Pennsylvania, New York, and Maine were tied for the
"lead" in the division with 11-13 spring training marks.

At the start of the regular season, Virginia continues to surprise
as it jumps to a 3-0 start, while their Eastern League opponent
Illinois surprises with an 0-3 start.

In the West, Nevada remains the only unbeaten team at 3-0.

There are only 10 live players on board - any Billy Martins out there looking to get hired?

Illinois Needs Help!

A preseason favorite to go...all...the...way, the Illinois Cardinals, a team that fnished 16-8 in the preseason, as thus bombed in this new season, recording a 3-7 for last place in the Western Division.

They need your help!

They got some talent but no leader.

We are a 24 state leaguel, play 100 games and sim 2 ootp days per real day.

Managers apply today before this great team collapeses.

Thank you,
-walt

Come on down!

Walt's got a slick operation going. 10 games a week, 2 a night Mon-Fri. Rules to try to keep it competitive. This is my first PBEM, and he makes it easy. Plenty of competitive teams left.

Best,

Hank

SLCBA TWIB Notes

Portland, ME., April 18, 2011 (SLCBA): Using a baseball
metaphor to describe the situation in SLCBA baseball: it's still
anybody's ballgame.

Teams and players are up one week, and down the next; or
down one week, and up the next.

Or, in the case of New York, just down.

Seventeen of the 18 non-first place teams in the league are
within 3 games or less of that first place team.

The SL East Southern Division remains the most exciting
division as 2 teams (Georgia and Alabama) share the lead while
the other 2 (Virginia and Florida) stand 1 game out.

Arkansas may be making a move in the Western Division as
they have moved to 3 games above each of their division rivals.

The Pacific Division finally gets a team to stay at .500 or better
and California stands atop that division with a 10-9 record.

With the expected changes to free agency and trading rules, a
Phoenix may rise from the ashes, but as for now, it aint' over 'till
it's over.
