Miami Marlins/Houston to AL

I'd like to update Florida to the Miami Marlins and move Houston to the AL after this next season is over, has anyone done this yet?

If so, how is it accomplished?

I think I can handle the changing of the logo and uniforms to the new ones for Miami - but what else needs done, stadium changes, team name, what else?

For Houston, how do I move them into the AL? What needs to be changed with the schedule?

Thanks!

I've done it. Just move Houston to the AL West, the hit the "create schedule" button. As for Miami, change the name uniforms and stadium and you should be good.

Thanks PSU.. I guess moving them is done from the game setup screen and should be done right after the World Series?

For Miami, is there a stadium out there that has the seating and what not or do you just use the old stadium settings?

Yes. In Game setup / League Setop / Functions / League Structure Editor

Works only in the offseason and preseason.

Personally I would wait that all the awards are given, just in case someone in Houston win one. When I did my 19th simulation I waited the preseason to move, remove or add the teams (just to be sure for the history).

Thanks, I think I'll do just that. Seems like everything is easy enough.. will have to wait anyway for the Marlins new stadium info and seating capacity. I'm in 2018 just about to hit the playoffs, so I might just change the name to Miami and update the logo/unis for 2019.

For the schedule, just make my change of Houston to the AL West and then create the new one?

I was going to do this exact thing you're doing, but was concerned about the schedule. That's one area of the game I've never really touched. If I move Houston to the AL west and generate new schedule, will that work? And what kind of schedule will that be? Will there be an interleague game every day, but otherwise keep games within their respective subleague? Will there be more division games still?

My current league starts in 2020 and I made the changes to move the Florida Marlins to the Miami Marlins and moved the Houston Astros to the ALW. I decided to use GMO's schedules as the official MLB schedule. There is a group of 30 schedules that I rotate through importing a different schedule each season.

http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...-schedule.html

Look for GMO and you will see the 5 ZIP Files each with 6 schedules. I manually import the next schedule at the end of the season during the preseason. I keep these files in a folder under the schedules folder.

I think OOTP will generate a schedule for odd numbered team leagues now but I would download the set of schedules that have been made for these and import it manually the first season. Not sure how the league schedule looks if you generate a fictional schedule. It still won't let you create a league with an odd number of teams though.

I'd imagine Markus will fix that for 13. We shall see.

I definitely suggest using the GMO schedules linked by Sandman. This schedule is really fun to play and very realistic.

You can't generate a schedule with odd number teams in a league. However it is very easy to move Houston or any team to the AL as long as you have 5 teams per division and then at the start of the pre-season import one of GMO's excellent 15+15 schedules.
