Importing historical player

Hi all, I have just finished the 2008 season on ootp09 and the date is 10/23/08. Before I import it into ootp10 I want to add some of if not all of the 2008 draft class like Pedro Alvarez, Eric Hosmer and others. I have tried importing historical player by going to the free agent page hitting the Importing historical player button, then I choose the historical_database, I then add the player ID for example alvarpe01 for Pedro Alvarez, then the year 2008 and every time I get an error, I have also tried the Master.csv but nothing works? I have read threads about this but it hasn't helped. I have read someone who said (I made sure the correct lahmane database name is in there.) I don't understand what this means and might be the problem I'm having. If someone could please help I will be very happy. Thank you Paul

in OOTP09 the default season would start before that draft corrrect?
by that i mean the mlb quick start would be for the 08 season
In 09 the last draft class would be 07 as the season starts in 08.
Import into 10 and then you can import any player you like from 08 as again that would be the last draft included in the game.
The mlb quick starts sometimes get the current draft class as a added bonus, you can't import them into your current league though.
