Do you want graphics in OOTP?

In a, perhaps forlorn, hope to settle the issue, I thought I'd make a poll. Since Markus has said he wants graphics eventually, it's likely it will happen.

It's a yes / no poll because they're the easiest to interpret, and it leaves out arguments about biased polling and arguments about "no graphics until the sim engine is perfect".

This is BS.

1. Markus has already spoken, making this totally redundant.

2. Given (1), the poll is not only pointless but automatically biased. People will answer "yes" even if they would have chosen "no" a month ago because Markus has now stated flatly that there will be graphics eventually.

3. In "some form" wasn't what the graphics crowd were after. They wanted the whole nine graphical yards.

I repeat: this is BS. And any results will be meaningless.

Settled, in the sense that it's happening, yes. The question is if people want it, not if they think it will happen, because it will.

This will definitely be in OOTP some day. Why? Because I want it to be! It's been a dream of mine since I started coding the game. However, there are a couple of issues with it:

1) I wouldn't want to do it half-assed. This all means that it is a LOT of work. And since we cannot afford to hire more people (unless you tell all your friends to buy OOTP 14), it's something that will not happen in the near future. But it will, someday.

This issue is not just settled, but over.

And you don't understand that now that the issue is settled that people will be exceedingly reluctant to argue against what Markus has already decided?

I'm sorry, you most have forgotten your medicine this morning and think you came to a magical place where all threads matter and there is not pointless post. He is free to start any type of poll he wants asking anything he wants. Just like you are free to come to it and act like you don't have manners.

Wish this poll had a "doesn't matter" or what not. Myself if it had graphics that's fine, but I never use what's in the game as is. Maybe if I played the games out (I mainly do online leagues)?

I don't agree with The Wolf here. But I am going to go out on a limb and assert that his 6800+ posts have been pretty valuable to this community on the aggregate. I'm going to give him the benefit of that bank of contributions and allow him to vent if he wishes. You should do the same. If you can't do that, you should at least refrain from insulting him personally.

This. If I voted, I'd have to vote no, and then the pro-graphics people would assume I'm vehemently against them. I sim almost exclusively, so graphics are pretty much irrelevant to me.

I can see how most people would want to have some sort of graphics improvement in OOTP. Maybe the question should be whether or not graphics should be the main priority.
