10/5 rights in OOTP

Do players ever waive their 10-5 rights in OOTP, or do they just automatically reject any trade? Seems like good players on a bad team in the last year of a contract would like to get to a winner.

I have seen a player waive it.... once, and I can't remember who.

I would like to know how the player decides to do so or what factors go into that. Player anger? Player attitude/work ethic? Market size or fan interest of the destination?

It would be cool if the Ichiro type situation (excellent player ending a career wants postseason play) could crop up with the AI from time to time.

Players who are at "very angry" seem to always be willing to waive it. Presumably they just want to get away.

I just had my overpaid 10-5 rule pitcher accept a trade to a team with the "win now!" mentality. So yes, it does happen.
