Gosh, I do love going through the roster after a 71-91 season . . .
. . . and weeding out the unhappy faces (or red thumbs down, if your using Bobble's mood icons) who, by THEIR OWN RECORDS contributed to the crappy season that they are unhappy about!
I am very careful to make sure that they are not just unhappy about their performances or roles on the team. These causes are quite understandable. But when a MR tells me, after a 5-13 W-L, 6.47 ERA season, that he's unhappy about our team record, he ends up like most turkeys do around Thanksgiving time!

I mean, take this guy for example. He gets into 43 games, bats .183, and he's mad about the team record? He's also mad at himself, but too bad.
CHOP! I take out my aggressions and frustrations on him!

Guys like this, though I respect. "All right, all right, man! I'm going to make some moves this offseason that I think will turn things around. Hang in there, will ya?"

I love when this guy sends an e-mail complaining about how he's more than a role player, and should be in the starting lineup

I don't know about this guy either. Are your power numbers down? I mean, by all accounts, I should be able to hit a home run in Yankee Stadium

Yah, and remember when I said I was going to keep that band of overachievers together for the next season? Well, they're underachievers now!

The morale system can be a bit wonky at times... In my fictional league, I like to occasionally 'play god' via commish mode around trade deadline time... I find that teams in "rebuild" mode aren't usually aggressive enough in rolling their pending FA vets into prospects... and "win now" teams don't always go after that glaring "weakness at 2B" when five rebuilding teams potentially have deals to be made... So I'll hijack a few teams and make some moves that I find are mutually beneficial for both sides.
On many occasions, a guy with a "very high" desire for winning will somehow be "very unhappy" with a transaction that moves him from a cellar dweller to a contender. Whenever I see it, I just pop into the editor and make him happy for the opportunity to be on a playoff team. The exception is when I see the "loyalty" rating is "very high" as well, as that could make sense for a player being angry with a trade... But it just seems like few players actually enjoy getting moved to a winner.
