Hiya

I'm hoping someone here can help explain this to me. I am the GM of the Reds and Votto has emailed me saying that he hopes we will talk about his contract extension. I was surprised by this as i saw in the team salary he has a contract up until 2022. His profile shows his remaining salary of $17m is in 2013 though. I'm confused as I thought he was signed up until 2022 and now I dont have enough money left in the budget to give him a new contract? Why would the team salary screen show he is signed up to 2022?

Are you using the MLB quickstart that came with the game? If you are, then it wouldn't include his contract extension since he signed that after OOTP 13 came out. Or when OOTP 13 was in its final production days and the developers may not have had time to include new contracts in the final version before shipping it.

You can go to the Mods forum and find an updated league file or quickstart that would have the new contract:

I cannot think of a good reason it is like that. Have you looked at his contract in the player editor to see what it says?

Put yourself in Commish Mode then to a player profile.

That option wouldn't have Votto's extension in it either. You can use the Player Editor to put in the extension yourself under Commish mode, or you can cheat a little and see what he wants for an extension first and then go with whichever contract is smallest!
