Smile Patch #2 coming early next week.

Hey guys,

we are working hard to fix reported bugs, and we'll have a new patch which will fix all problems we are able to reproduce early next week, probably Tuesday.

Some users are still experiencing rare crashes when playing games out. We have identified the core issue and the patch will fix this. For now, those of you who experience the crash, please disable the ball animations in the pre-game options. That will prevent the crash from happening.

Also, this patch will tweak the player talent in feeder leagues, it was a bit low on default settings.

After patch #2 is released we'll take some well deserved time off. This was a great release, but also a very stressful one because we had been working for several months non-stop (no weekends) up until the day of release. But it was well worth it, the game is great and people apparently love it. That makes us very proud

Cheers,
Markus

Smile Kudos and enjoy the time off!

I have been an avid player of OOTP going back to the first edition, and all your (and your teams) efforts are greatly appreciated. 14 is a great edition, and will provide (too many) hours of enjoyment and escape for all of us that play!

If the issue was related to talent in feeder leagues, then yes.

Yes i noticed this a few days ago with a player that i had traded for..our first away game, he had his former teams uniform on. the only way i could fix it was to delete his away facegen pic and let the game create a new one.

I'm curious, but are rain delays supposed to fatigue out pitchers? Because 2 times already I had a rain delay and the first time the opposing pitcher immediately went into tired, then a pitch later exhausted status. Then just recently I had a rain delay and a few pitcher later my guy became tired and then exhausted. I was playing the games out.

Is this a fix that will apply to current leagues already started or will we need to restart?

If we have to restart, is there adjustments/edits we can make to our leagues so we don't have to start over?

Long ones should. Like if they have a 30+ minute rain delay, the pitcher will usually come back tired, and at 45+ minutes or so they're exhausted. Just to simulate that in real life, pitchers are usually pulled after long delays to save their arms.

Can we please have batters BABIP? (Not the one you see in the editor, the actual stat)

Thanks for your dedication Markus and co.

It'll apply to your league going forward, but not affect anything in the past.

Good point, 'noser. I thought about this when I first read it, wondering if a populated feeder league important enough to you (in terms of potentials) could be essentially replaced by deleting its players and replacing them with a Fill Teams with Fictional Players at that level.

that's my thinking. I have already created a league with heavy edits to my feeder leagues (teams/logos/colors/unis, ect.) but haven't started the season yet, so I can easily delete the players and just re-fill them when the patch comes out.

Yep yep, that's what I was thinking. Otherwise, players already created before the patch will still be filtering through your system for a few more seasons.

I've just experienced this myself. probably cost me the World Series as I lost the last 2 games on the road, but should have had home field advantage as the NL (I am the Mets) won the All Star Game.
