Illegal Number of People on the Active Roster

Hey, Guys -

I have just received the error message that my AAA team has an illegal number of players on the active roster. I cannot figure out what the problem is. I can't even figure out what the message means. There's no minimum number required to be active in AAA, and my overall number of players on the active roster is well below the 40-man limit.

Any suggestions?

Do u have roster max set for minors? If so u could be over the limit . Look at ur transaction screen and from there u should see how many u have in each level followed by the max if there is one.

Ensure u don't have any other rules set for ur minors that are not default as they should get most rules from the ml

Also ensure u use ghost players for minors so that u don't have to fill all positions as that could be ur issue maybe

No, I don't have any roster limits on.
I have feeling this is related to the DL somehow. I have an unusually high number of players on my AAA club & most of them aren't on the DL.

How many players are on your active roster at AAA?

It has nothing to do with the DL. You say most of them "aren't" on the DL. Are most of them injured?

You need enough players to field a starting line-up. Unless you have ghost players enabled.

Yea I was thinking same thing in reguards to him not having ghost players enabled

Yeah, but I do have ghost players enabled. That and the absence of roster limits for my minor-league teams is what makes this kind of puzzling.

Thought I would just post a note here that Bluenoser's suggestion worked. By putting control of the minors in the a.i.'s hands I was able to get past the message that was blocking the game. The a.i. promoted a bunch of my players to the AAA team, so that seems to have been the root of the problem.

But I am still puzzled why this happened. With ghost players enabled there shouldn't have been an issue with the number of players on the AAA roster.

True. I would have liked to look at the league files, too bad the issue is now gone.

It means that you have violated MLB's law 33.11.15135, which is that having 27 players, ghosted or unghosted, on your roster is a felony.

Heh - I don't know. Markus's expression of interest gives me a "Get Out of Jail Free" card, doesn't it?

And to Markus: It had occurred to me to post a bug ticket on this, but before doing so I wanted to get some feedback to be sure I wasn't overlooking something obvious that was new in OOTP 14. I do think there's a bug here, though, because I've played this game a lot over many years, and I've never seen this problem before. If it comes up again I'll be sure to post something for you.
