Not receiving personal "mail" on news subscriptions in OOTP14

Thinking of upgrading to OOTP15... new player as of last year when OOTP14 came out... however I am having some issues with news/mail and my personal subscriptions.

Its currently 2017 and I started in the 2013 season when OOTP14 came out last year; so this would make for my 4th season "in game". Under the manager options and news subscriptions I currently have mine set up as follows:

However, now I am no longer receiving email at all except the scouts email before a new series starts. Any clue or help as to why this is happening? Please and thanks!

Have you recently selected Act As in commissioner mode for any reason?

Yes I did actually... to make a jersey switch on a computer AI team, then I changed right back. Am I screwed for life? lol

I "checked" the commissioner mode to "on" edited the player's jersey number in which I wanted to updated, went back to the manager options screen and "unchecked" the commissioner mode back to off/empty box and that was it.

I've done it in the past no problems, if that helps at all....

Okay, that alone shouldn't have done anything. Make sure you have the job. Are you listed as the GM of X team? If you check commissioner mode again and go to apply for jobs, is your team available?

I checked commissioner mode, went to available jobs and it lists every single team. MLB all the way down to A. I unchecked (turned off) commissioner mode and went to Human Managers and it lists me and it says team - and lists my team the New York Mets... so I believe I still am "GM'ing" the team.

Mystery to me now. I'll have to wait until I have the game in front of me again. Maybe late tonight, if you don't get any other responses sooner. It sounds a little familiar. May try using the search option too, and see if you turn up any threads. Pain, I know, but I think this has come up before. I thought it was related to possessing the position, but looks like we've almost ruled that out.

I did do a google search and tied it in with OOTP and one thread came up but no one responded to that thread starter. I will keep an eye out on this thread for when you end up having the game in front of you to check, totally appreciate the help thus far. Many thanks!

If you're up for it, try an experiment. I don't 'think' you have to be commish to do this. Go to League News and Select Write News. Do a quick little entry or just call it TEST if you want and make sure you select the Send as League News box. See if it appears in both the League News and your messages after you're done.

That was the first time I ever "wrote" my own... it didn't get a notification but when I went to the league news listings it was there along with all other pieces of news/mail etc.

But it didn't show up in your box. Interesting. Okay, for kicks and giggles, as long as I'm avoiding the work on my desk for now

Tick your commish button again, go to Act As and select your team. It may be highlighted or selected already, but select it anyway.

btw, I do have a drastic option, but we'll wait on that for the moment.

Argghh, looks like that didn't work either. I turned on commish mode, and acted as my team, which it was set at already but I clicked it to make sure. Advanced a few days and I got no email notifications... but I went to league news there has been "new" news in that time

Two things left to try. Back up your league in case you don't like the results. These would be my choices in order of preference: 1) go to the apply for job area as commish and take your team if the selection allows it OR 2) resign from team and then do #1. The latter may or may not lose your original history. I hope not, but I'll bet it restores message delivery. All I can suggest for now. Seems the strangest thing. Let me know what you decide and the result. Thanks for your patience.

I just came back to post something... and seen you offered up more help... thanks so much, its a great feeling people over the internet are so willing to help!

HOWEVER... cross your fingers here... I MAY have found the problem before I try your steps... I unelected the Commissioner mode again and noticed something in the bottom right corner...

"return from vacation" , could that be the issue?

I have no idea how I ever "went on vacation" I may have accidentally clicked it. Will post soon if that fixes my problem, as I reclicked "return from vacation".

Looks like that was the issue. Got 2 messages the following day in regards to 2 injuries from other teams!

Thank you for all your trouble shooting... no idea how that "go on vacation" was clicked.
