Depth chart during a game?
Is there a way to see your team's depth chart during a ballgame? I'm manually controlling substitutions, etc., but my pea brain doesn't remember how I'd planned things out (who does pinch hitting, who should be the closer, etc.) for more than a minute. So by the time I start the ballgame I've lost track of who is supposed to do what.

You can't plan every substitution before a game anyway. Depending on the game situation you may pick a different PH than you originally intended. What if your 2B gets injured in the 2nd inning. There aren't that many players left on the bench. The backup catcher you never use unless forced, so you have 4-5 guys max, of which only 2 or 3 are useful PH.
As for your closer he is usually the one with CL before his name.

My familiarity with baseball is actually rather limited. I enjoy deep simulations, which is why I like OOTP, but I am probably the least adept person here when it comes to the game of baseball itself. So I have the AI handle my depth charts while I'm learning the ropes. And the AI rather helpfully picks some people who it thinks make good PH's and PR's (is that a thing?). But then I forget their names when the game starts... and yeah. But I guess the solution is to focus more carefully on the depth charts to begin with, to understand what's happening there, which will make it easier for me to select the right guy for the job during the game. (My knowledge of baseball is so limited that I didn't even know you could have pinch hitters and pinch runners until they showed up in my depth charts.) |
