Just who are these bad apples?
It seems there is a lot of discord in the locker room. I even have guys in the minors complaining about the bickering in the clubhouse. I'm told my team is riddled with bad apples.
Okay, how do I find out who the bad apples are? I've asked the guys but no one is naming names. I'll be happy to get rid of them if someone would tell me who they are, or where to find them. Thank you.

Read the personalities of your players. It should be pretty clear who's a negative influence.

The BNN Player Page will also generally be a goldmine of info. Guys with leader ability of Very Low, with Very Low work ethic is going to lead to a poisonous scenario.
Definitely lots of ways to divine who is a negative influence, and who your best clubhouse guys are.

Also, check your bench coach, sometimes there is a conflict when you have a guy that is a little hard on their players. Sometimes, the bad apple is the one picking the apples!

Thank you. I looked at Personality and found 2 pieces of scum who happen to be 2 of the best pitchers in the league. Figures.
I don't suppose flashing neon lights would help highlight the personality defects on the team. Thanks again.

This is not a personal criticism but I can't imagine why anyone would want to look in the editor for anything. The fog of not being sure of things is one of the most exciting things about this game.

I just looked at personality on the profile page. It told me what I needed to know and Kaat and Briles are gone. I hope I don't get any more of those personal messages about how bad the clubhouse is. I will check personality before trading for or signing a player. And if I want cancer in the clubhouse, I'll startl smoking and make sure everyone on my team smokes.

If you keep the overall leadership high you'll be good. The overall better leadership, loyalty, and work ethic you have. The more "cancer" players you're team will be able to deal with.

Is having a clubhouse full of tumors bad for the team? Will they start to tank? (ie Red Sox chicken & beer)

I have this problem every single season, and no matter what I do it's the same. Everyone are unhappy with the team chemistry. I've gone through every player on the roster and nobody has a negative personality from what I can read. I traded away everyone that were selfish, greedy or lazy. I figured I could get away with ordinary guys that enjoys fishing in the off-season or are pretty smart, or are decent guys.
I've tried changing bench coaches, and my current one is a disciplinarian that works very well with young guys, which my roster is. We've played better than 500 ball the last few years and reached the play offs every now and then. I can't afford veterans. They all want ridiculous contracts, and we're an expansion team that are still playing moneyball. Is it impossible to get good, or decent, team chemistry without veterans? |

I just think it's really weird that 24 players that are popular and getting along with everyone, in a winning team, still think the team chemistry is crap. It doesn't seem right. |

Only in my official second year of new personality types, etc... but I will say without apology, I have never reacted or over-reacted to these issues. Having a relatively easy going manager, I have simply elected to ride it out. Last year, we did so to a Covenant Accord Championship. Who's unhappy now?

Yes. The only thing that I am not sure about is how the manager's personality fits in with all of this (easygoing, strict, etc.) but I do know that having a few HIGH and VERY HIGH leadership guys on the roster works wonders, so well that you may be able to afford those "2 pieces of scum who happen to be 2 of the best pitchers in the league."

Question: I looked at the editor settings for Personality for the first time after coming across this thread. (Thanks, by the way, for all the input here.) When a guy has a high Controversy rating, does that mean he CAUSES controversy, or does that mean he HANDLES controversy well? Thanks.
