Should I wait to import my ootp 16 game?

Hi guys, I have a saved game that I put a lot of time in and I want to be sure to import it correctly. Do you think it would be better to import it a couple of weeks after the release (wait for the majority of bugs to be fix) or I could jump directly tomorrow when I'll get the Beta access?

My game is on january first, I saw at a couple of place that its the best time to import games!?

Yeah, I don't expect any import problems. We might still have weird crashes or bugs, but they'll be on simming or playing out games if there are any. Import should be fine, especially if you're in the off-season

I have a 1909 Cubs dynasty running where there is no minor league affiliation yet. If I direct import into OOTP 17, will the historically accurate minors integrate, or will I have to do a little extra magic to convert this properly?

last i read was you'll have to start a new game in17 to get the historical minors to work correctly.

Importing question? When importing from OOTP16 to OOTP17 can you still play OOTP16 while it's importing?

The minors aren't in there for 1909. I think they start in 1919 and then only on a limited basis.

Which is why I'm wondering if the current lack of minors in my franchise will adopt the OOTP17 full minors when they become "a thing" in 1919. New to the series, and hoping that the easy way (just import) will work without having to muck around with file edits, etc.

Another thing to note, if you import an OOTP 16 league, the game will not utilize the new text database feature (saves time and HD space and speeds saving up) automatically, it still stores text files like OOTP 16 did. You can enable the new feature by going to Game Menu -> Game Settings -> Database tab. There is a sentence "This saved game uses text files instead of the database engine to save the text data.", click the "Edit" button next to it.
