Rainouts

As long as I have played ootp 16 and 17 I have never had rainouts during the game being played.I have only had long rain delays.

Don't think I ever had one on 16, but I have had a couple on 17. They do happen.

Have had several in ootp 16 and 2 so far in 17. The thing that has become commonplace is my minor league teams been getting no hit against hopefully it balances out for my minor teams no hit them ... just as I am speaking my first no - no for my class a team finally lololol

The game will be called due to rain. It slightly annoys me because the logic seems flawed in a sense. One such instance, I was down by two runs (as the away team). Hanley Ramirez had just doubled, so things were looking good. Next hitter up, the game is called for rain. I have not yet seen a suspended game, though.

I had one rainout already from the second game of a new season started with OOTP17. I don't follow the detailed schedules/scores from other teams so there may be more.

What was funny was instead of scheduling the makeup game the next day when both teams were available, the game was rescheduled to be made up when I'm in the opposing team city. So now we are going to have an day/night double header in different cities. Not that it matters because OOTP does schedule each of the DH games as a home game for each team. It just looks strange when reviewing box scores and noticing the teams traveled ~300 miles between games.

I was in the 6th inning and the game was called because of rain. I got the win but the strange thing is my pitcher was credited with a perfect game??? 6 IP, no runs hits errors. Is that legit? It kind of irritates me because it wasn't a full 9 innings.

Sure, it's legit. Hasn't happened often but there have been rain shortened no-hitters before. As long as it's an official game. Unless the rules for that have been changed.

I played 3 seasons of my eBL league on 16. No rainout til this current season who i had 2 rainouts in the 1st week. I also play in a dome which factored in a lot.

I just had a game called in the bottom of the 6th inning. Complete garbage. I was the home team and was down 4-3 in the bottom of the 6th with the tying run in scoring position when the game was called (resulting in a loss for me).

Zero chance that would have happened in real life. The game would have been suspended and resumed the next day.

It's not, it has to be 9+ complete perfect innings. This is why Harvey Haddix game of 12 perfect innings doesn't count as a perfect game because of an error in the 13th by Lew Burdette. It is not officially considered a perfect game nor a no hitter because Joe Adcock hit a homer but passed Hank Aaron on the base paths negating the home run and making it a single and a double play. Making it a 12 2/3 one hit complete game, I should also mention Haddix lost.

I've had one game suspended in the 8th inning that was made up a month later. It was not part of a doubleheader and my team had another game in a different city the next day.

The rules for no-hitters/perfect games have been revised. OK see this link

First, let's note that suspended games are not the same thing as postponed games.

Second, if OOTP is using the major league rate of postponements, you likely won't see many. The average postponement rate in MLB over the last seven seasons is 1.4%. That means on average 1.4% of scheduled games will be postponed—about 34 games for an MLB season. In the minor leagues, however, postponements are generally more frequent, on the order of about 4%, though it varies by league (e.g. the California League sees very few postponements).

Something else to note is that leagues in OOTP will always make up every single postponed game. That's quite unlike real life, where games are sometimes cancelled (i.e. are not made up). This is now rare at the major league level, but it is still relatively frequent at the minor league level.
