Nearly Complete putting it all together, but need some confirmation....
I need to kn ow if this set-up will work in regards to being enough college/high school teams feeding my main fictional MLB League.
Below is how my fictional MLB is currently set-up. Any ideas on how I should set-up my finances would be great as well, but I am needing to find out if my college/high school (feeder system) is large enough. *****MLB (Parent) League: 40-Teams***** Two 'AAA' Leagues: Total teams is 40-Teams Three 'AA' Leagues: Total teams is 40-Teams Four 'A' Leagues: Total Teams is 40-Teams Four 'R' Leagues: Total Teams is 40-Teams Mexican Baseball League: 16 Teams Total (Feeds MLB League Via Draft) Can-Am League: 6-Teams Total (Feeds MLB League Via Draft) Dominican Winter League: 6-Teams Total (Feeds MLB League Via Draft) Nippon League: 16-Teams Total (Feeds MLB League Via Draft) NCAA (College Baseball): Five Conferences spread through the United States with a total of 75 Universities/Colleges (Feeds MLB League Via Draft) **HERE IS WHERE I NEED ASSISTANCE, BUT ALSO FEEL FREE TO ASSIST/GIVE ADVICE WITH ANYTHING i HAVE SHARTED/WILL SHARE IN THIS THREAD** I am planning to add High Schools to "feed" the colleges which will feed my Majors. Here is what I am, 'Planning': High Schools spread through the United States 35- Teams Total Is 35 High Schools enough to cover 75 Colleges and so forth?? Am I on the right track here?? I have been playing OOTP since about 2006, but got back in around 2013 after some time away. OOTP 17 is my first attempt to really add any feeders such as colleges and high schools. ANY help is welcomed and appreciated. Thank you!!! Last edited by vulcan4; 01-20-2017 at 04:09 PM. |

35 is definitely not enough. You would need about 63 High School teams. However, if you have 13 minor league teams for each major league team, you would need a ton of college teams. I think like 435 if my math is correct. You could also select the feeder leagues + created players option though.

When I say I have 'two' 'AAA' leagues with 40-teams total, that means I have two leagues that total 40 teams combined, just like the real MLB structure - The International and Pacific Leagues. The same goes for AA, A, R as well. My Mexican League, Dominican WL, Can-Am and Nippon Leagues all are particular independent of the MLB, BUT will feed the MLB draft. I apologize for any misunderstanding. Does this make more sense now and does the colleges and high schools now match up more, even tho still needing to update them in regards to the number of teams? I may just go the route where I allow the game to give me enough teams, but how will I then get the college teams and high school teams to have a associated playoff structure?? |

Okay, yeah.....wow......
I went ahead and let the game add according to what I have and the game set-up my feeder system as follows..... Two College systems/Leagues with two sub-leagues within each sub-league with each sub-league holding two divisions which then totals in 4 divisions per main college league. SO......TWO College Leagues (aka 'feeders' would = 128 Teams in TOTAL. THIS then would require 640 High School teams IN TOTAL to 'FEED' the two college leagues/systems. Does this sound better?? lolol And WOW!!!! I have a long ways to go yet in setting this up..... It's been nearly two months since I started. I plan on this being my Main league which I will continue to import from version to version, hence this reason why I am taking much time for the required/needed detail. |
