Historical Career Leaderboards
I am starting a career in 1990 and want to start the history from this point.
I have cleared all league and player history but when I look at my leaderboards in 1991 (second year), there are players showing up that have never played. For example Warren Cromartie is the career leader in many hitting categories. He is not on a team but his stats are being picked up from 1974-1983. Same thing with Gossage and Floyd Bannister. What settings should I be using so these older player past stats do no get picked-up. Any suggestions. Thanks. |

When you create the league, you have to deselect the "import complete history" option.

I've done all that. Seems that when players gets added (ie Cromartie and Gossage show up in 1991), it picks up all their career stats and thus become leaders in that category.
I am doing some testing and the same thing happens when I add international leagues. I simmed to 2001 and added the Japanese league. After simming one season and looking at career leaderboard, it is completely out of whack picking up stats in 2013, 2015, and years before 2001. |

Under League options, you can erase all stats and history. See if that does the trick.

I have followed these instructions (cleared everything).
Still picks up older players. Just tested a league starting in 2001. Cleared everything. Season plays out. Mo Vaughn is signed as an FA by Cincy after the season. All his stats are picked up (1989-2001) even though I cleared everything. He is the leader in many stat categories. |

It sounds like the issue I had when I started my league in 1901. Deselecting importing league history worked fine for the inaugural draft but at the end of the season, players that missed the season IRL (injury or whatever) showed up as FA at seasons end with their prior Real Life stats showing as stats for my league and showing up on my career leader board with 1000s of hit or RBIs or 100 wins even though My league had been in existence just 1 year. I "think" Markus said that was something we would have to live with for now. I ended up just deleting those players from my league but I had to do that every year until those players were out of baseball. It sucks. I think there was a thread several months ago about it in the problem section of threads.

This is exactly what's happening. Sucks, but I guess deleting those players will have to be the work around.

Yes, with 17 you can no longer erase all stats and start fresh. This stinks, because I love to run fictional historical leagues. By that I mean, I use fictional teams and sometimes fictional setups. As Reed said, it's due to players missing a season and then importing in with their complete history. I started a thread about this a ways back. Markus said that in the past erasing stats was possible due to a bug, but the bug was fixed for 17.
The good news is, he did say that he could probably give us the option of whether we want players that missed a season to import or not. So, please guys when you get a chance let him know that you would love him to add that option. Thanks. |
