Hardball Retrospective leagues

Announcing OOTP 17 Online Leagues based on the Hardball Retrospective rosters!

I am in the process of creating two leagues. Turn of the Century Era will cover 1901-1960 and the Expansion Era will span 1961-2015. The leagues will use 40-man rosters comprised of the best player-seasons for each franchise during those timeframes. Lineup/rotation/roster changes will be submitted on a weekly basis.

You can view the projected lineups/rosters/rotations here ->
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...GABNak/pubhtml

If you are interested in managing one team (or potentially one AL and one NL team depending on # of responses) please contact me via PM.

More details to follow.

- Single-season (not career)
- No trades, waivers, etc...
- No draft - each team has a set 40-man roster to utilize.

Rosters w/ proposed starting lineups, rotations and 5-man bullpens are available here -->

Confused some by some of the rules in the league. I see, for instance, Red Sox have Hanley Ramirez (2009). That season, and all of Hanley's good full seasons, took place with the Marlins (who don't have him on their team)?

Seeing Ruth on the Red Sox, and Ortiz on the M's, makes me think it's where they started their careers?

The rosters are based on the research for my book, "Hardball Retrospective". Each player is listed with the original team that he signed his first professional contract with. So Reggie Jackson would be a member of the Athletics for the duration of his career in this scenario. As you mentioned, Babe Ruth and Hanley Ramirez would be members of the Red Sox organization and David Ortiz is listed with the Mariners.

You can check out my website Tuatara Software, LLC for additional information.

I uploaded the Hardball Retrospective Expansion Era League rosters/lineups/rotations to the website. Here are the links ->

*Main Page*
BNN Home Page

Select the "League Home" links for MLB, International League (IL) or Pacific Coast League (PCL) or go to the *Standings* page -->

Standings Report

Then you can drill-down into each team's roster, view proposed rotation and lineups, player information, etc. Each team has 15 reserves on their Triple-A squad, hence the IL and PCL links.

We are still seeking managers for a number of franchises. Please contact me via PM if you are interested. No fees to join the league!

More details to follow.

Think he was originally signed by Philly. Seems that's the way this league went.

That is correct... George A. Bell was originally signed by the Philadelphia Phillies as an amateur free agent in 1978.
