Manager help.

I tried to make a template out of a league with history and it worked just fine. All but the managers, they keep their stats but have teams that do not exist as the teams they managed. Any way that this will be fixed in the next patch?

Templates are just for having a quick way to startup a game with all your general settings according to your preferences.

Quickstarts go a step further and give you settings, players, graphics, etc. that you can start a game from instantly and go.

If you want to go a step further and save 100% complete stats, coaches data, etc for a certain point in history, you'll need to save a copy of your entire saved game (xxxxxx.lg) folder.

I believe this is the way Markus designed it and it seems to work as advertised.

Well I have done it. All the players have their stats.

The only thing I can see that is missing is teams added loss their draft history, and leagues loss info under manager’s index and manager’s leaders. The only things wrong are in a manager’s "managerial history", the teams that the manager was with are teams that never existed.

That's the point of templates and quickstarts. They are supposed to be incomplete and will have random histories (including teams that may not have existed) generated upon game creation. Should give you some differences every time. Otherwise they would just be complete backups of saved games.

My advice is if you're want to keep everything in order, including the managers' histories, don't save it as a template. Just back the whole thing up as a saved game because quickstarts and templates are going to generate somethings differently upon game creation because quickstarts and, especially templates don't save everything. They are supposed to be light and are there to reduce the amount of work it takes you to get settings and configurations the way you want.

Again, this is not a bug. It works like this...

Templates(which you tried to use) = settings & configurations
Quickstarts = Settings, configurations, images, teams & players
Backup copy= Everything, including histories of players, teams & managers

Done what? Made a complete copy as a backup? In that case, if something is missing, it's not a problem with the game. To make a backup of your game file, go to the "saved_games" directory, find your saved game (xxxxxxxx.lg), right click on it and select "Copy". Then paste it in another folder on your hard drive. If you follow this procedure, you will not lose anything.

Right. I see. Then it is definitely not a bug. Unfortunately templates are not meant to function as a way to import whole leagues, completely intact, and, from what you've explained, it sounds like they are doing more than they were designed to do.

I believe that a full export/import function to get complete leagues, teams, players, coaches, scouts, histories from one saved game to another would be a feature request.
