Compensation Bug
Okay, here is the situation:
Fresno lets 2B Castro go in FA I let SS McLaughlin go in FA Both are type A free agents... Fresno signs (re-signs) Castro, and then it also signs McLaughlin. However, I do not receive compensation for the McLaughlin pick. Why? Because the computer misinterpreted it so that it basically gave priority on compensation to its own team (i.e. if Castro's contract had been extended as opposed to him going to FA, I would have wound up with the pick). And it was the #3 pick in the draft!!! ![]()

The first 15 picks of the 1st round of the draft are always protected from compensation- in real baseball, you'd get the no. 3 pick in the 2nd round, not the first, for a Type A free agent (and supplemental 1st rounders, don't remember the new compensation rules). FA comp isn't working for me (but I haven't patched, so my fault), but in OOTP 2006, if a team in the first half of the draft signed a Type A free agent, no compensation was awarded at all- hope that's been fixed! |
