Minor League Managers releasing young talent

If this is double posted, I apologize.

I have been dealing with this issue from the beginning of ootp2007. I have the minor league managers deal with Minor League Transactions and Minor League Lineups/Depth/Pitching. I'll have young talent in the minors and the minor league manager will release them really early. For example, I had a catcher, drafted 5th overall (potential rating of 79) who was released less than a month after he was drafted.

I had the exact same setup with 2006 and the minor league manager would never cut good talent. With 2007 however, I've lost quite a few players when there seemed to be no good reason for their release.

I am running with the beta patch.

The folder is shared at http://brabnet.4shared.com/

with a password of ootp2007 (use this to both access the site and the download)

Any help would be appreciated.

Correction

I didn't notice that you had a place to save the file at. I am currently copying the file to ftp.sigames.com. The file is jbrabhammvp2.lg.rar

Are you using minor league roster limits?

Allow incomplete minor league rosters (ghost players) is unchecked.

And Active Roster Size for the minors are set as well. However, when you have 3 catchers, all 22 and younger, why would they release the only one with any real potential.

And while the AA team has 35 of 35 players, the AAA team only has 25 of 35 players on its roster.

A full version of the second patch was released a couple of days ago. Could you install that and let us know if this problem still occurs?

One thing I've noticed is that sometimes a player looks like a good prospect with one scout but stinks with another or others. Is it possible that this is happening here? Or are you playing with scouts off.

Update to release of young talent

Yes, I am running with scouts off. Always have. And I just downloaded the final version of 2.0.2, so I will play for a few days and then post what happens.

NOTE: Something I just started trying: right after the amateur draft, I go and offer extensions (of a minor league contract) to all my draftees. I don't know if this makes a difference yet, but I am trying it.

Has no one else had this problem?

In the little that I have played it seems to be better. However, I was on vacation so I haven't been able to test it any more lately.

Has no one else had this problem?

I've heard of no such reports from other users who are playing with the most recent patch. If you see any instance of this problem using the current patch, could you let us know?

Since we haven't heard anything on this issue in a week, this thread will now be closed. If you have any further trouble with it, please ask a moderator to re-open this thread or feel free to post a new thread on it. Thanks.
