trade issue

I am trying to trade a player and I get two problems; one, it says player may be included in potential deal already but I have no pending deal; two, it says player may be a free agent soon but I'm in June and player has a two-year deal. Also, I can't demote him so I might be forced to release him which was not what I wanted.

Just to make sure - this is a MLB type league where the season ends in Oct? Do you have a screen shot? When you go to the pending trades screen does anything show up there?

Yes, it is a MLB season, in June. No, there are no pending trades listed. I can't even shop player around but...this is happening with 2 of my players and I just noticed they are both very unhappy. Okay, shouldn't that make them more amenable to getting of town?

Are you using the second full patch?

In OOTP 2006, if you proposed a trade involving a player, the trade was accepted by the other team, but then you never actually completed the trade or rejected it, then the game still considered the trade pending, and you couldn't try to trade the player ever again, for as long as he was under contract. So if you've tried trading the player before, maybe that's the issue- probably not, but thought I'd throw it out there.

While it doesn't make sense I do believe this is what happened so I guess this is an issue, huh? Thanks for the response.

Actually haven't installed the newest patch on laptop yet...will get back to you on this

Okay, problem seems to be resolved with the patch. Thanks. I don't know how I missed the second patch. Of course I was forced to release the player and eat $600.000.00 but at least it seems to work now.
