Financial info bug ?
Is this a bug, or am I missing something.
Picture 1, shows the financial report from my teams 1902 season (circled - last season). These figures are the same as my team info shows in my front office. However, picture 2 shows my A's lost almost $36,000 last year. What gives ? ![]() ![]()

If you add up all your revenue from the first screen and deduct the player and revenue sharing expenses, you get the -35,000 figure. So that appears to be your revenue minus costs for that season. I don't completely understand the financials in the game, but I'd guess the +98,709 figure is either the Owner's Budget minus costs, or it includes money that carried over from the previous season. In any case, I'd guess it's not a bug. My impression, from other threads, is that the financials work properly, just that no one understands them!

No, that's accurate. Essentially, what you're missing is that the two numbers are talking about different things. The "Balance" that you see on the Financial Report is only talking about your finances within that single season; the "Balance" on the History page is showing your balance between seasons. Here's the math:
$130,844 (your balance at the start of 1902; the same as your balance at the end of 1901) -$115,564 (revenue sharing for 1902) +$185,534 (gate, media and merchandising revenue for 1902) -$105,925 (player expenses in 1902) ------------ $94,889 (your balance at the end of 1902) So $94,889 (your balance at the end of 1902) minus $130,844 (your balance at the end of 1901) equals -$35,955, exactly what the History page says you lost. --- For reference, the HTML Financial Report is out of date - the format of that report was never updated to reflect the improvements that were made to the layout of the Front Office screen in OOTP2007. Frankly, I'd suggest ignoring the HTML report, because the OOTP2006 layout is just too darned hard to understand. I've shown you how to get the right answer from the numbers you gave me, but there is a much easier way: on the Front Office screen, Current Balance - Preceding Year Balance should give you the same number that you see that you see in the "Balance" column on the History page. - Kai

Ah, I see. What I missed is that my rev. sharing from last year is subtracted on this years report - giving me a negative balance.
Even though, that money was paid - with the positive balance from the previous year. Confusing, but I got it. And I don't like it. The rev. sharing shoulda been subtracted from the year it was subtracted, giving me a positive balance both years. (I'm trying to make the finances be a big part of my dynasty, and stay positive EVERY year, no matter what - something I struggle to do.). I'll turn the rev. share off.
