Major Slowdown with patch 2.0.2.53 (Mac)

I've noticed a dramatic slow down in sim time since applying the 2.0.2.53 patch. Previously, the offseason would take just a few minutes to sim through - now each day (even with no games playing) now everything is taking 10 times longer.

I'm running a MBP 2.33 Core 2 Duo with 2 GB of RAM (870 MB free with OOTP2007 and Firefox open), on OS 10.4.9

First killjoy I've had with the new version. Hope to get around it soon.

Do you experience this slowdown in only one saved game or in all of your saved games?

hmm... I have a similar MBP (2.16, 2 GB ram) and my game has ALWAYS been ridiculously slow.

10 seconds to sim one day.

Is the PC version appreciably faster? I have Parallels with Windows XP installed, and debated buying the PC version. I posted some speed questions in the Preview forums before deciding which version to buy, and never really got a straight answer.

I only have one saved league right now, so I don't have anything else to compare it to.

I don't have any data available regarding the speed of running the game on pc vs. mac, but you could always try the pc demo to compare.

How many leagues are you running at one time? The more leagues, teams, and players in your league, the slower things will run.

Do you have any other programs open besides Firefox while running OOTP2007? The fewer programs you have running, the faster the game will likely sim.

Did you probably add a lot of teams to the league and deleted them again when you created the league?

I'm curious: Does Facegen work on your Mac when you run the PC demo on Parallels?
