Mac update issue

I was "simming" along with no problem, until my game kept crashing when the date reached the new year. After two crashes, I looked to see if there was an update/patch. I discovered Patch 2.0.2

I downloaded and installed the patch without trouble, but when I tried to restart my game, the game would not restart. I double click on the ootp2007 icon, the screen "blinks" and then I'm back in the Finder

I'm playing on a G4iBook with Mac OS 10.4.10.

How do I correct the problem? Is this a "bug?" Do I have to reinstall the game over?

Search the forums for 'Mac patch blink' and you should find two or three other threads discussing the issue. I had the same problem, but it was because I hadn't pointed the patch to my game, only to the drive containing my game. This created an icon that looked like an OOTP application, but wasn't, and this blinked when I tried to open it. When I directed the patch to my game, all was fine. Others, however, have needed to reinstall, I think- in any case, I recommend reading the earlier threads for more info. The good news is that everyone has managed to solve the problem, one way or another.

If you manage to solve the problem, do post here so the thread can be closed- and if not, I'm sure someone will be able to help more than I can.

I tried pointing the patch directly to the game, but that didn't work. I had to uninstall/reinstall to get it to work.

It certainly seems like something went wrong with the patching process. At this point, I think the best option would be to uninstall the game and reinstall it. Obviously, you can save your league file, so you shouldn't lose any data.

Let us know how that works!
