End of playoffs takes forever

I can sim a season very quick, but once it gets to the end of the playoffs, it sits there for a good 5-10 mins and then finally it works, but i dunno why it does it. Could it be free agency? I dont have any minors and am using reserve rosters in a historical league in 1915. Its done this every year so far. The only difference i can figure out is free agency. But should it take this long?

Im running a Athlon 1800 w/1gig of ram and ati radeon 9800 gfx card. Using the newest patch

Could be generating the league almanac. That could take a while. If you have a lot of the options turned on, it has to generate huge number of pages. You could check that out.

hmm the almanac isnt turned on. The only thing i have it do is save the game at the end of the year and do a CSV dump. But it does those later.

Do you see this behavior in multiple leagues, or just the one?

Hrm. Did you change any of the settings from one league to another?

the only thing i did different was import from a different database. The one that took forever i imported from Lahman and the new one im using Gambo's DB. I dont think that would make a difference, cause the slowdown happened at the end of the playoffs.

Did the first one include more back-history? Was it a larger universe?

It sounds like a league-specific problem of some sort.

End of the WS takes a long time when you are years into the league.

Start a league in 1901 and the end of the WS takes nano seconds.. each year that goes by, it takes even longer.. 68 years later.. take a bathroom run.. its going to take a few minutes..

yeah thats usually how it goes, but even in 1901, it took 5 minutes. I think i might have loaded the history with the league. Although i dont know if it would of made that big of a difference

Yes, it does make the difference.

It is just the nature of the game. Things have to be updated.

If I remember correctly, during beta is when this slow down 1st occured, but at the same time, several 'off season' bugs were fixed. So, my guess would be some end of the year routines were moved up to this date.
