Game CRASH when updating player pics

Sorry if this has been addressed already - I couldn't find it....

Everything is working fine, except when I go into game setup and try to force update the player's pics the game crashes. It will start updating them and then crash mid-way through every time.
I downloaded someone's facepack (i think from padrefan's site) and am using that (real ML players) for my realistic league.
I also though used some historic packs from recent years and combined them into one folder to help minimize the number of missing pictures.

Should I just delete the pics folder and start from scratch with a new one or is there a specific bug that i don't know about?

Also, does the size of the pic make a big difference? I noticed some pics come up on the player's profile small and others a bit larger. Could this be causing problems?

thanks in advance!

Hmm, I'm not quite sure, sounds like you have a lot of variables in there.

First off, I'm not sure why you're using "regenerate faces" if you're using face packs. That is, the regenerate faces function is designed for fictional faces, not actual photographs. To use photographs, you should only need to place them in the directory, with the correct names, and the game should recognize them.

You could also try this:

1. Close OOTP

2. Back up your entire league folder (just because I always recommend that before anything else)

3. Delete all of the FaceGenplayer images from C:\Documents and Settings\user\My Documents\Sports Interactive\OOTP Baseball 2007\data\saved_games\yourleague.lg\news\html\imag es folder.

4. Place all of your custom pictures into this folder.

5. Rename the faces.dat in C:\Documents and Settings\user\My Documents\Sports Interactive\OOTP Baseball 2007\data\saved_games\yourleague.lg file to faces.old

6. Restart the game, and try to play again.

Let me know how that goes!

Steve

well... the reason i was using the regen option was because i was retarded. I'm not anymore though. I realize that the way to get the game to recognize player's pics added to the facepac is to reload the league.

Ibefore you posted I tried to delete the facepack files in the OOTP photos file and download a new set. that didn't really help. I started a new league though and it seems to be working fine.
No crashes so far. My only issue with the new league is that I have no scouts, but i'm sure that one is probably human error (i posted a new thread on this issue).

I'll let you know if the crashing comes back to haunt me
thanks
