I guess the only question would be whether the runner on second would've advanced to third on the grounder to short, or if he would've held at second. If he held, the subsequent groundball single wouldn't've scored him, and it would've been first and third with two outs when Green hit into the fielder's choice, which would've been a force out and negated the run.

I know the Mets often don't advance on infield hits in non-force situations, unless there were two outs or a hit-and-run is on.

Does anyone see something I'm missing?

But really all I want to do is play.

So I'll try harder to be patient and hopefully the board will be patient with me.
And yes, I am still continuing my campaign to promote adding a 'mass select' option to Out of the Park 10.

Good Call

You are correct in that assesment. I guess it was an offical scorer's call that he wouldn't have scored from 2nd on the following single. Excellent analysis.

I love these scoring questions, even though I often get them wrong. They remind me of a book that came with my Baseball Strategy game from Avalon Hill over a third of a century ago, "Knotty Problems of Baseball". Bunches of "What's the umpire's (or scorekeeper's) ruling in this case?" questions. Almost as much fun as the game.

If you get any more of these, please post them!
