Commissioner Not Allowed to See Team Strategies

I created a fictional league using a template.

I think I checked the Commissioner mode on the template.

However, when I used the template to start the league, I was not allowed to see the Team Strategies. I got a message when I clicked on Strategies on a Team page that read: you cannot see the strategy of a team you have no control over.

I went to the Functions screen under League Setup and scrolled down to "set all teams to being controlled by Eugene Church".

It says on this screen that this is how you can control all teams in the league.

Also on the Schedule screen where you choose the games you want to play scheduled for that day, it only gave me the choice to "Watch" the game.

"Manage" and "Quick Play" were not there.

Any idea what the problem is?

I looked everywhere in the League Setup for the Commissioner mode check box, but did not find it.

I suspect in the original league that I made the template from, I didn't check the Commissioner mode.

I had done all of my ballparks, weather, team logos and uniforms.

Is there a way to save them, so I don't have to do them again?

Hey, EC. That's quite a list there. I'll give pointers where I can.

If you want to change a set of team strategies, your best bet is to set the "Act As" dropdown in the upper right corner of the screen to the team you are trying to adjust while in Commish Mode. You'll want to "Act As" a team while performing most changes upon it, in general.

I don't know why "Quick Play" shouldn't have been an option. Maybe something to do with setting all teams to your control? I've never seen that. If you try "Watch"ing a game, I believe that the first screen should give you the chance to set the controls of each team over on the left. If you want to control one team or the other, you should do that (or if not that, Act As the team you wish to control before entering the game).

If you want to set yourself as a commish, you need to find the checkbox under Manager options or settings (I don't have the game in front of me, so I don't recall exact names). You should find it in there without much trouble.

Now, you had created uniforms, logos, ballparks, and weather for your template and you aren't seeing them in your saved game based off of that template? There may be import/export buttons on some of those screens - try that first. The actual logos you would probably be best to copy from the template folder to your saved game folder directly. You may need more qualified help than me to get you further in this area.

The box shows up in the league setup process. I don't think it is anywhere else in the game. It seems to give you only one chance to do it.

This is probably the problem. I just didn't set the league up properly.

The template is flawed because of my mistake.

The logos are just the internal ones where you create the logos and team jerseys.

Why doesn't it switch on the commissioner's mode when you use the button in the league setup functions.

On the functions page I scrolled down to where it says "set all teams to being controlled by Eugene Church".

This seems that it would give me control over teams, but it doesn't.

When you click the button, it tells you what it does and then asks if you really want to do this. A "yes" answer gives the message that the process has been done.

It looks like it works, but when you got to a team and try to change something, you get the message "you cannot see the strategy of a team you have no control over".

I'll play a game in the "Watch" mode and see how the process works.

Maybe it will give me the option to get it back in the "manage" and "quick play" modes.
