Phantom FA offers

Are there any reports (for online leagues) of guys being signed to teams with no offers being made? One of my GMs claims to have a signing of an MR at some silly price (like 9M x 6) and said he never even made the offer. I didn't delete all the exports from last season, if that's a problem in V2007 like it was in a past version, but is anyone else seeing this?

The AI is controlling no aspect of anything, as he made some of his own signings.

I had this happen to me twice (same offseason, 2 different players) in the last offseason of FOD (Now defunct). This occurred before the last patch came out and I haven't seen it since.

They were both bums who I never would have touched. I thought somebody was manipulating my team at first, but then someone else in the league had the same problem too.

We never found a fix or an explanation. Commish simply released the players back to FA and credited the contract amount back to cash.

I've heard tell that withdrawing offers might still be quirky, but I haven't heard anything about phantom offers since the OOTP6.5 issue with not deleting old exports that you mentioned (fundamentally, that issue can't happen in OOTP2007, because the same team export file is used all year round, inside of the separate one that OOTP6 used for FA offers).

Other than you two, I've never seen or heard of this happening, no.

The only other thing I could think is that maybe my team was temporarily set to AI control and the AI made the offers. If that league still existed, I could pull the details on it.

Another Mike D, is there anything that you need help with regarding this issue? Would you like to attempt to provide us with more information in hopes of pinning this down and identifying the problem? Is this GM still having trouble?
