OOTP2007.exe has encountered a problem...
Hi there. I'm hoping someone can help me out, so my additction to this game can continue! Here's what is happening:
I am running OOTP 2007 version 2.0.3.68 on a WinXP SP2 PC with 1 GB. of RAM. I am playing a fictional 12 team league that is currently waiting to play games on June 21st of the season. When I go into the schedule to view the full slate of games for June 21st, I click 'manage' for one of the 6 available games for that day. This takes me to the lineup screen where I make my roster changes and then click on the 'start game' button. After clicking on the 'start game' button, I receive the following error: "OOTP2007.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close." I have tried to play all 6 availabe games, and they all give me the same error above. I have also tried to simulate the days games, and this also causes the same error above. The rest of the game outside of this works just fine. I can view rosters, check stats, look at upcoming schedules ect. If I start a new season, I can play games just fine, so it appears to be my DB I fear. I have been digging through the forum, but have yet to find this same issue. Please help me if you can! Thanks! I've never heard of this before.
Have you tried simulating each game one by one or simply advancing the whole day all at once? Are there any league events that occur on that day? Is anything special going on in any of your minor leagues or other major/foreign leagues?

Solution found!
While doing extensive troubleshooting, to the tune of 2+ hours, I finally figured out the issue. Whenever I would simulate the ENTIRE day, the game would always crash during one of my Triple A games. (I do not play Triple A games, only my MLB level games) I figured this was the game causing the issues. Upon inspecting the game, I found nothing. I then decided to look at the game that came in the schedule after that game, and sure enough, found the issue. My Triple A league is setup to have the pitchers bat. One of the teams somehow had a DH assigned to the pitchers spot in the batting order, instead of the pitcher himself. When I tried to sim this game as is, CRASH AND BURN! I reloaded the game, removed the DH and put the pitcher back in the batting order, and PRESTO, issue solved!
I know there were several other posts related to this same issue and error message, so you might want to publish this as a troubleshooting step. Odds are some flakey batting order bug caused the same issues. Now, back to my season!! |

Interesting. How did you get a DH in the pitchers slot? Did you just change the DH rule for your Triple-A team that day or something?
