Waivers and DFA question

this might not be the right forum for this, but...

I started the game with the KC Royals. I try to advance the 1st day and it says I have players on the DFA and Waivers.

I go to the screen and see all of the same players on each.

Waivers: Luke Hochever (3 days irrevocable)
and
DFA
Luke Hochever 0 days left

Its like this for 6 player, all that I want on my 40 man which is full. How can I get these guys off waivers and on the 40 man.

Not sure why Hochevar would be on irrevocable waivers- that means he's out of options, which means the service time isn't set correctly in the roster set. In any case, here's how to get Hochevar back on your roster:

-Go to the Transactions screen;

-Find someone on your 25-man roster who still has options left (i.e. only has a * next to his name, not a +; best also to choose a guy with no §, or else he might refuse to be demoted). Demote the guy to AAA by drag and drop. It doesn't really matter who you choose, since it's the offseason; you can work out who you really want on your roster after Spring Training;

-Drag Hochevar from dfa to the 25-man roster. He'll be added back to the 40-man automatically;

-Right-click (ctrl-click on a Mac) on Hochevar, and choose 'Remove from Waivers'.

Repeat for the other 5 guys, and you should be able to sim forward. Note that you can do all these moves by right-clicking on the player's name as well.

Had the same problem

Hochevar (sp?) and many other good young players were on waivers when I started. Many of them wound up getting cut. That's certainly problematic.

One other odd thing I noticed - I of course tried to sign these players and some signed minor league deals with teams after I had offered them major league contracts.
