PbP display issues

During the play of individual games, I'm facing an increasing number of bugs regarding the display:

1) The game no longer lets me see the pitcher AND batter on the left, forcing me to toggle between them;

2) The game no longer shows the pitcher's name on the field display;

3) The game no longer shows runners on first base.

Please help.

Which version of the game are you using and what resolution are you running it at, please? Without knowing the answers to those questions, it's tough to assist you, but I'd advise patching to build 68 of OOTPB 2007 or build 13 of OOTP 8 if you haven't done so. I'd also try increasing your game resolution if possible, or using full screen mode rather than windowed mode.

Third/final patch of OOTP2007 and 1024x768. Not sure about the other - I play it in a window, nor am I aware of a way to do otherwise (Windows XP), but the window is expanded to full screen except the taskbar at the bottom. I should also note

1) That the batter/pitcher problem, in particular, is recent in origin; I was using the third patch for awhile before it appeared, and

2) While the batter/pitcher problem is a constant, and the one that bugged me enough to write about it, the other two problems (invisible pitcher, invisible runner-on-first) don't always happen ... they're problems in, say, 75% of the games.

There should be a full-screen option somewhere in the game preferences/options/settings. I don't have the game installed where I happen to be at the moment, so I can't point you directly to it, but it shouldn't be too difficult to track down.

Presumably what happened with your invisible on-field guys is that you unintentionally dragged and dropped them off-screen. Presumably it only happens when displaying the same field background, and not others? You'll want to edit the ballpark, I believe. There should be display coordinates for each of the fielders and runners that you should be able to adjust so that they show up on screen where you can move them back into their regular positions.

So, the missing-pitcher and missing-baserunner problems were fixable exactly as you said. Thanks!

As for the other:
I don't mean to sound ungrateful, but I don't want to use the full-screen option. I use the other windows; the other windows are important. And from my purchase of the game until last week, using the same monitor, operating system, etc, I had no problem seeing the batter and pitcher in the PbP display. So have you any idea how to fix this problem and restore normalcy, without the change you suggested? Again, thanks for all help.

I'm not saying that you should use full screen mode forever. I'd like you to try using full screen mode to see what the results would be, if you could. That would provide useful information that could potentially suggest a fix.

I know in at least a couple of cases, it was simply a matter of selecting the Show Pitcher option located on/in that same area where the pic should be normally. You might see if that option is there. If it is, select it and see if the pitcher re-appears.

As this thread has gone a week without a reply, it will be closed for housekeeping reasons. Voxpoptart, if you would like to discuss your PbP batter/pitcher display further, please post a link to this thread in Tech Support and we will be happy to continue our discussion.
