Can't play older versions of OOTP on Vista?
I'd like to upgrade some of my older OOTP5 game files so that I can eventually play them on OOTP8.
I bought a new laptap over the holidays, with Microsoft Vista. I've tried to set up OOTP5 and the demo for OOTP6, hoping to save my OOTP5 files to OOTP6, so I can then import into OOTP8 (whew, that was a mouthful). The older versions seem to install OK but when I go to run the games, nothing happens. I double click on the icons and the computer just sits there. Is this a Vista issue, my user error, something missing? Thanks! I'm anxious to get into OOTP8 and bring some of my old dynasty stories out of the stone age. Thanks!! AZ

Did you run them as administrator? I'm pretty sure all OOTP games in vista need to be run in that mode.

Well, I can't even get to that screen. I click on the OOTP6 or OOTP5 icon and the computer just sits there. I get nothing - no new screens or error messages, etc.
