Game Speed

My game seems to take forever to load, which bugs me since I have a decently fast computer. I've had a similar issue with former versions of OOTP which have always been solved. I'm just wondering if there's anything to speed it up?

What version of the game are you running?

And are you running an external roster set or trying to load a fictional league?

I'm running 2007 with the latest patch. I use real/external rosters.

Some of the real roster sets are full of deleted leagues and retired players, and take much longer to load than native OOTP fictional leagues. I'm having very long load and save times at the moment with Cubbyfan's '08 roster set (which is otherwise great). Don't know that much can be done about it, unless the data in the original file gets pared down.
