cannot load saved league in ootp8

I started a league and after I played a full season and then I saved it and now it won't load. When I click to load the league it goes to 87% then the program stops working. It says something like oopt8.exe stopped working. It always happens after i save and exit any league I start and when I try to load the league it freezes at 87%. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no luck and disabled facegen still no luck. I tried installing the patch and it says the application failed to start because elicen40.dll was not found. I just bought this game this week so if anyone can help out with this error it would be much appreciated.

What version of the game are you using, please? If you bought the game, are you certain that you registered it and that you aren't running the demo?

What operating system are you running? What is your processor speed, your RAM, and your total and available hard drive space?

When you say that any league that you save and exit cannot be loaded later, what types of leagues are you running? MLB ones? Historical leagues? Fictional leagues? Are the leagues messing up after the first time you close down the game, or sometime down the line?
