Two different draft pools?

Versions of OOTP: OOTP 8 (8.0.0.13)
OOTP 2007 (2.0.3.68)

In our online league, some of our owners are reporting a draft pool different from what the rest of us are seeing. There appear to be additional players in the draft pool that the OOTP 2007 owners have, as opposed to the people (including me, a commish) that have OOTP 8. We have feeder leagues, and our draft also has some game-generated players.

The additional players appear to be players in the feeder leagues who are of age, but are not eligible for the draft for some reason. For example, one of the additionals is 22 in the college feeder league (whose age max is 21). Other 22 year old players from the college feeder league do show up as draft eligible.

This is one of the players in question:

I sorted the draft pool in the online draft utility by power potential and didn't see Evans.

I don't see him in the draft pool either:

He does show up in my Rookie Draft Pool Report, though.

Has anyone ever seen this before?

I confirmed that this is a difference in versions issue. I loaded the league in OOTP 2007 and these players show up there, but not in OOTP 8.

I can't help you with the draft utility, since that is third party software.

Are you absolutely certain that you don't see Evans in the draft pool? You don't have filter conditions set? (The dropdown button shows "None" as long as you haven't saved your filter.)

Can you try to narrow down why certain players from the feeder leagues aren't showing up? Do they have anything in common?

They are all players from the college feeder league. There seems to be no trends in their position or college. Other players from their colleges do make it into the draft pool.

Any ideas? I thought these two versions of OOTP were supposed to be compatible with eachother.

They should be, and I haven't heard about this issue in the past. I don't know what particular thing might be causing the issue. If you want to find me on AIM and send me your .dat files, I can try loading up your game in both versions and see if I can figure anything out. My handle on AIM is the same as here.

The players who were appearing in 2007, but not 8, belonged to phantom teams in their feeder league. There are a number of players assigned to the rosters of these phantom teams, but these teams contain no information other than roster info, and cannot be accessed in editing the feeder league.

Presumably some feeder league teams were created and then deleted without deleting the players involved? Cnield can't recall what editing may have been done to the league.

OOTP 8 correctly hides these players, so as long as the commish is running the sims, his list and the one used by the utility should be accurate. GMs using OOTP 2007 would have to check each player's affiliated team to see if it actually exists, unless each player was deleted manually.
