Joe Unknowns in League Database

I searched for this and didn't find anything, so figured I'd ask. Has anyone come across a large number of Joe Unknowns in their league database?

When I say large number, I mean to say when I open the players.csv file for my online league in OOTP8, I have 29,949 players called Joe Unknown (compared to 13,516 real players).

I'd like to delete them, but deleting them in the CSV file does nothing for in-game and that is a lot of players to manually delete in-game.

The reason I'd like to get rid of them is that I believe they are causing our league file to be incredibly large.

Any help is appreciated.

Yeah, this is typically an issue seen in older leagues. With which version did your current game universe start?

We started with OOTP 2007.

Yeah, I think that this is a holdover of a previous bug that has since been addressed. I don't know how to remedy the issue in an existing league.
