Agree.............LOOKS like it's back on track. Now here's to the beta team and Markus squashing bugs between now and release day.

I will continue to urge people to make a decision on the game based on their considered opinions, and not the hype. However, as a member of both last year's and this year's beta teams, I can say that there is no comparison between the stability of the product between this time last year and now.

Even from the first beta build, the game has been very stable. That's not to say it's been bug-free, of course. But, I feel the entire beta has been a lot more productive this year, because the platform has been consistently stable throughout testing.

I had one crash in the first beta build, and one more two builds later. That's it. Markus has fixed them both. I've simmed 100 years three times, played several games out ... this is by far the most stable beta I've ever tested.

This is great news to me. In all honesty, had I simply waited to buy and start 2006 until the final patch was out, the vast majority of my issues with it wouldn't have been a concern at all.

Last year, I told myself that I shouldn't pick '07 up until the final patch was released, it's just going to be hard to display that much self control.

Even if the game is not perfect upon release, I'm betting it will still be better than OOTP2006. That was pretty much how things went from OOTP2-6 (can't comment on 1 since I wasn't there).

That's why last year was such a shock to me. I started out back in v4, and even though there was some bugs and fixes to be done on opening day the games were in decent shape. Last year it felt like it was an early beta build.

4.2 I believe.

But, they're trying to get it up to 5.

This all looks well and good, but we'll see how the AI handles contract re-negotiations, waivers, and other things like lineups before singing accolades. I am hoping this version still doesn't have the well known "carry over AI issues" of past versions.

It's in fine shape right now. Some stuff needs polishing, like what Andreas is doing to FaceGen right now.

Most core elements are shaping up nicely, and there are several dozen people trying to break the thing day and night. There's two more months of this process.

If you use a different rating scale, it can go to 11.

The Actual fun factor or the Potential Fun Factor or the Overall/Potential Fun Factor? And will you have a coach helping you to achieve your highest possible fun factor?

What scale would you like the answer in?

For Actual Fun Factor, Potential Fun Factor and coaches Fun Factor you can have the grade in

1 to 5
2 to 8
1 to 10
1 to 20
20 to 80
1 to 100

For the Overall/Potential rating as a whole for OOTP 2007 you can have it expressed in

20-80
Stars

Sorry but we cannot reveal the true fun factor as that is only available to the Commissioner, however there is a rumor the scale goes from 1 to 250 in the true fun factor.

Wow. FaceGen is huge. I purposely waited for something like it to become OOTPB official.

I have yet to have a crash in any beta build, the fun factor is back, and there are a lot of added extras that have added to that.

I must say, if you haven't played 2006 you still have to get used to the navigation, but after playing it a while it's actually quite nice, and customizable (bookmarks, stat filters, etc.).

Yes! Based on what I’ve read thus far, OOTPB is not only back on track, but on a new one that’s entirely superior to the old one.

However, one has to wonder if OOTPB won’t officially be back on track again until Malleus Dei returns from his self-imposed exile. I guess only time will tell.

He'll be back. You can take that to the bank.
