Release date?

The press release mentioned a release date of 23 March. Can we get an estimate of how firm this date is? I'm a software developer myself, so I realize that any estimate is tenuous at best, but for those of us running online leagues who are considering upgrading before the start of our next season, it would be helpful to know if we should wait it out or go ahead and run another season.

cheers,
-n

We all have very high confidence that the game will be released at that date. And it will be in excellent shape

IMHO, this game is much better and more stable than the last patch made 2006 already---I see no reason why it should be delayed

Put it this way, I would NEVER give a release date unless I was confident in hitting it.

I still think the date should be a week later so as to tie-in with MLB's 2007 opening weekend, but alas, I'm not a power-that-be. But that's okay (and perhaps is just as well!)...

Oh, dear. Confidence is high… and so is Markus.

But really all I want to do is play.

So I'll try harder to be patient and hopefully the board will be patient with me.
And yes, I am still continuing my campaign to promote adding a 'mass select' option to Out of the Park 10.

Why? If the game is ready, release it.

By releasing it a week before opening day, people have time to get to know the game a bit before the season starts. If someone wanted to emulate real baseball and have the same opening day they'd be scrambling to learn their way around the game and get their season going.

Besides, the learning curve / setup process will probably be about a week anyway.

Nah, after the experience of OOTP 2006, I expect all aspects of 2007 to fit like a comfortable old shoe after 2-4 days.

Nah, if you played 2006, then you should pick up on it right away. The new features aren't complicated at all to learn.
