Weather
First I've got to say this has blown me away. I pretty much haven't done anything in the last 48 hours, but try to read as much as I can on this release. You all have done such an amazing job! I read in a post that the weather doesn't cause postponed games or anything. Does the weather feature do anything besides add a cosmetic element to the game?

Is the weather system similar to that employed in Football Manager. I know it won't be exactly the same as you can play football in a drizzle but you can't really play baseball.
I would hope that players with a low stamina who play day-in day-out down in Florida for example would tire more quickly during the summer due to the higher temperatures and humidity than a player playing in Colorado would. And would a strong easterly wind in Boston alter the park factors as you'd be hard pushed to get a ball into the bleachers? I haven't played FM2007 but I remember from older versions there was a weather.txt file or similar that had percentage probabilities for various 'weather effects' (eg Temperate Summer would have something like 5% very hot, 10% hot, 50% very warm, 10% heavy rain, 50% showers, etc), and you'd set a climate zone for each city/town. I put Aberdeen in the tropics once in FM and made it monsoon like weather and then adapted my team to play long ball as passing seemed to be affected by the weather. |

As far as I know stamina wasn't in 2006 and no mention was made of it being added to 2007. I'm hoping for it in 2008, though Markus may feel that injury frequency subsitutes for it. I had to laugh about playing baseball in a drizzle. I just finished reading a photo book from Sports Illustrated that had beautiful pictures of games being played in a deluge and in a snow storm. In the snow photo the flakes appeared to be as big as the baseball. I can't imagine batting under those conditions.

Excellent news. Is the weather geographically accurate or randomly assigned? For instance, is Miami muggy in August or are snowstorms a possible result? The answer tells me if we're still in cosmetic mode or if we need to pay attention to the effects. With no cancellations available the idea of an April game in Boston or a season-ending series in Denver being impacted by extreme weather assumes as much import as the soundness of the scheduling.
