That's what I kind of figured. After some thought and brutal self honesty I realized that the majority of issues I had with the 2006 version were based on the condition of it at release. It still has things that get on my nerves but it's solid. If 2007 can build on that I'll be happy. I just hope the issues from the past can be knocked out.

Of course THIS would be the time to verify your email address you used when you SIGNED up to join OOTP forums.

If you have changed your email address since joining, you might want to update your personal details as well... usually a new email change also generates a name and password verification the next time you log in.

Definitely look up your details folks, and if needed update your records in your User CP at the top of every page!

I got a newsletter with coupon for the PC, but I no longer have a PC. Bought 2006 for the Mac too, so I should be on whatever mailing list for that, right? Got no newsletter for it, though; need a discount coupon so I can pre-order 2007 for the Mac. Thanks

I really wasn't going to preorder this time. I don't think I've played 2006 enough to really justify what I spent on it even with the preorder discount last time.

But really, who am I trying to kid? I'm going to buy the game eventually, so why not take advantage of 20% off?

FWIW, my thoughts on the pre-order discount...

Thanks for offering the discount again, Markus and Marc. It is more than a fair offer and 2007 looks like it has a very good chance at being the best OOTP yet (and I really hope that it is).

But based on past frustrations with the game not quite living up to some of the hype, I've decided to forgo the pre-order opportunity at this time. Depending on how the reviews turn out, I hope to buy it shortly when it comes out at full price (as I did last year) or, if the release doesn't go smoothly, perhaps at the All Star break if you over a discount period at time and any major shortcomings of the game are addressed.

After doing all this reading on the game over the last few days, I'm kind of leaning that way as well. Still, I'd like to see at least a couple of tester blogs about the game before I pony up for the pre-order. Hopefully they'll be here before the 14th.
