Yes, it is fair. No, this is not fixed.

Oh, dear. Does that mean "yet" or "forget about it"?

Raidergoo,

Thank you for your support on it. I hope that you don't mind if I bump it again in a week or so to ask if there's any update on where things stand.

Jamie

I was planning on playing without scouting on anyway, because it's never worked right anyway...this is just more of a reason to turn it off at the start.

Well, why don't you wait a bit to see what happens? From Raidergoo's posts, I gather that the issue is still up in the air . . . unless, of course, you really don't like scouting in general anyway . . . Nevertheless, this may end up not being more of a reason to turn it off.

Scouting is an acquired taste. It's much more efficient now (by a mile); but marginally more fun.

Yes, even if international scouting ends up unchanged, I definitely will be a-scouting in 2007 with those handy-dandy scouting task lists included in the game.

Is it possible to turn off scouts while keeping coaches? They went hand-in-hand in OOTP 6.5 (the last version of the game I owned).

I'd like to make sure I understand this issue. Is it that the computer teams aren't scouting international leagues? Or is it that they're not scouting other leagues at all?

I believe the issue is that the AI doesn't scout foreign countries looking for "hidden players".

One more time: can I have a Mexican League with only Mexican players where no team scouts anywhere but Mexico?

Well, I am sure that you know how to base a league in Mexico in League Setup and edit your nations, cities, and names.txt files accordingly when you set up a new game in 2006, and we have seen nothing that would dramatically alter the process for 2007.

So, I am assuming that your question relates to whether you would be able to scout Mexico as a nation, rather than just the various teams, organizations, leagues, and draft pools that would be generated purely from Mexican sources. A good assumption, I guess, given the thread topic.

Unless they change it for 2007, I think the answer would be "no scouting Mexico as a nation" because in 2006 you could not scout a nation in which one of your leagues was based. See below.

On the other hand, reading your question once again, the answer would be "no scouting any countries" if you merely turned off hidden players in Global Setup when you were making the league. That, or edit all other nations out of the nations.txt file.

Of course, you would want a beta team member to confirm this for 2007.

Yes.
