NTC Questions

I was delighted to see no-trade clauses finally make an appearance in OOTP '06. However, I was extemely disheartened to discover that an NTC could not be added/removed via the Player Editor.

With this in mind, I have some questions about the NTC in OOTP '07...

1. Will the NTC be editable in the Player Editor? (Betcha didn't see that one coming! )

2. Has the 10-and-5 rule been implemented? (I read in a posting a year ago that this would be difficult to code, although I'd like to think that since the game keeps track of things like service days, it could track how many years a player has been in the league and on the same team.) If it isn't in the game, please consider it in the future. It's not as if this is an obscure rule. Many teams and players are affected by it IRL every year.

3. Any chance editable (not really worth it if not editable) Partial/Limited NTC's have been included? This is probably my single biggest request remaining in OOTP. I'd so love to see players given Partial NTC's where they would list teams to which they would (or would not) accept a trade to. I would assume their choice of teams would be based on the same criteria as with free agency.

4. Will players periodically waive their NTC, particularly if their morale drops to a point where they're demanding a trade? (If Partial NTC's were part of the game, a player with a Full NTC could shift to a Partial NTC in this situation.)

1. I believe the answer is no, though I'll check when I get home and request that it be made editable if it, indeed, isn't already. That doesn't mean it'll happen, of course, but it's worth a shot.

2, 3, and 4: No.

Yeesh... Well, at least there's a chance on item #1

Yes, please see what you can do to get this to be editable. I will be eternally grateful to you and to Markus

I really hope the 10-and-5 rule eventually gets implemented. It's a huge part of trading veterans that GMs have to watch out for, and I hope it finds its way in soon.

I suppose if NTC becomes editable AND if there are sortable stats showing years of ML experience and years on current team, we can at least manually implement the 10/5. Of course, it would involve filtering all the 10/5 qualifiers and probably only at the beginning of the season, since it would be too hard to keep track of when each player reached that status...

Uhh.. yeah... please include the 10/5 in future versions, Markus
