Something tells me, I'm going to be forever remembered for authoring that paragraph, maybe I should put it in me sig! ![]() Good read, fhomess, thanks. Let me try to explain the issue in another way. I'm one of the few who never got into SI's big 'football' sim. An english buddy of mine had it and loaned me his laptop to try it, but I never could make my way though all the menus and long waits. Since I disliked the parent game, hearing that SI was inflicting that engine / interface on my favorite baseball game was a nightmare for me. It maybe because it has a European programming feel to it that I struggled with the new version. Even though Markus isn't American, his previous versions had the feel you get from programs made in America. Its kind of like playing Oblivion, Gothic 3 and Zelda. Oblivion feels very familiar and is easy to play since it has a culturally familiar feel to it. Zelda feels Japanese, but is still fairly easy to pick up and play, as if the designers intended it to be an American export. Gothic 3 is confusing. It uses concepts that are foreign to me and not explained and I feel as if the designers didn't really want me to play it, but felt obliged to release it in my country. I hope this doesn't sound like I dislike other countries than my own. I'm just trying to point out that different cultures have different styles of games. American games tend to be easier to navigate and often simpler period. European games tend toward complexity in both content and interface. Japanese games tend toward granting a unique, unforgetable experence, sometimes at the cost of making any sense to my aging Western mind. So Markus could you create an aging Western mind mode in the game. ![]() |
