Question regarding creating a fictional history in Lahman format

Let's say I want to plan out my league's team movement history in advance. Can I enter it in a format like that Lahman database and have the game make the historical changes automatically? Is there some limitation, like having to have the leagues be "AL" and "NL"? IOW, if we have a history that deviates from real history, will the game still recreate it? What limitations are there?

I'd really like to map out a full fictional history for a universe ahead of time, but I want to know if it will work before I do it.

This is a great question, and is something that hadn't even crossed my mind yet. This would be a really nice feature for those of us that like to plan out a league's history in advance, so that we don't have to remember to check our notes every season. Lazy of me, maybe, but boy would it be useful.

As long as the both sub leagues are called AL and NL you should be fine...

You can call the subleagues AL and NL? Not sure when that feature would ever come in handy.

That's what I figured would be the case.

Is it possible that in future versions that particular limitation might be removed? It would be very cool to be able to have custom databases that allow us to plan out league histories in advance. I can imagine being able to make intricate histories for minor leagues (which generally have much more movement of teams) that would allow them to be auto-updated as well, saving a lot of time.

I'm sure the limitation is there for a reason, but I'm hoping there is a way to get around it at some point.

"

I have a "Timeline of Change" that tells me year by year what temas move where and what leagues start when and yada yada. It'd be great to be able to plug that in somewhere and have the game make all of the changes for me. Good idea.

That's what I do. I actually have an Access DB that I put together for most new leagues that lists all changes for each year along with the divisional and league alignments. Every year, I check it and make appropriate changes. It would be nice if I could have it work automatically.
