Duplicate jersey number question

I know this is purely cosmetic, but I was wondering if anything has been added to prevent duplicate jersey numbers for players on a given club.

It would be a nice add IMO for those of us who don't want to have to go through each team and re-number tons of players.

I have mentioned this before, but some kind of check like the ones used in EHM and FM where you cannot proceed to a game unless you have assigned a new player a jersey number would be nice also.

Thanks for listening.

In addition, will ootp finally have a more realistic number generator... ie traditional lower numbers and not numbers in the 90's etc.

Much better, still get a few odd, high numbers. That's by design.

No, but now the opposing manager will challenge the validity of your lineup if you field two players with the same number.

Will it ever escalate into a brawl? That'd rock!

You have multiple players with the same uniform number! Let's fight!

Does it then allow you to change the numbers?

Also, does an opposing manager do this between 2 AI controlled teams, therefore resulting in no duplicate numbers?

I am suspecting that Steve left out an emoticon to indicate that he was joking. All this about 2007 has left me weak-minded, willing to believe anything that is not directly and obviously labeled as facetious. Emoticons for playful statements, I beg!

That's what I was thinking too. I thought, especially wih Steve, that It would have at least illicited one of those hyperlinked drum beats he is famous for.

Uh, yeah, I was kidding. I suspect that would drift a little too far into the "minutae managers don't really want to deal with" direction.

I didn't rimshot it because it didn't have that true "one-liner" feel to it.

There was this mod available last year,

So who can make a jersey number generator?

but I don't see anyone ever attesting as to whether it was compatible in any way for use with v2006. If there is or will be a way to export/import specific player data - just like stats - perhaps this or something of this order can be concocted in a new and improved mod. ?

A team being able to "retire" a number in honor of a given player would also be a fun cosmetic addition... I've done this in my fictional leagues, but have to do it manually, of course...
