Hosting Ballpark Photos for OOTP

Everyone -

I already host a couple of websites for PureSim and Action PC Baseball that have hi res (1024x768) photos of all current MLB ballparks, for use in the games. It occurred to me that I should make these ballpark images available for OOTP as well. Here are the links so you can see what the images are like:

http://web.mac.com/sixwilsons/iWeb/P...Mods/Main.html

http://web.mac.com/sixwilsons/iWeb/F.../ActionPC.html

Question: I'd like to modify the files so that they are sized correctly for OOTP, so does anyone know the proper dimensions and file format?

Thanks!

Al

I think they are 640X480. Someone correct me if I'm wrong here. Great site by the way, stadiums are kinda at a premium I think

I've always used your site in PureSim days. I'll check the photo dimensions when i get home tonight. I'm on the 2007 beta team and will take a look unless someone else beats me to it.

As a matter of fact, I'm using your stadiums in my beta testing. Just can't remember the dimensions off the top of my head.

By the way, one of the nice new features is drag-and-drop positioning of your fielders and hitters in the ballpark edit area.

Very nice Padres Fan.

Appreciate the link very much. Great stadium pics seem hard to get. This is very helpful.

I just looked at my backup files, which I carry with me in case I encounter somebody who has OOTP loaded on their desktop or laptop.

Last year's default ballpark photos, including the updated one that Markus included with the last patch 1.03, are 640 x 480. However, the Bogart stadiums that I use instead are 1024 x 768.

Thanks for the kind words guys, I appreciate it.

It sounds like 1024x768 may work just fine, but if a beta tester could verify that for me, it'd be appreciated.

Also, what's the file format? GIF, JPEG, or BMP?

do we still have to type in the filename? Would be cool to have a dropdown menu or have the game check for lets say a 'newyorkmets.jpg' in the ballpark directory.

It now does. Same for photos and logos in a global folder.

Awesome! Is there any park.dat files like in 6.5? I dont think there was a way to transfer the park details to another league.

Just downloaded these files but I am having trouble getting them open. They have a .prk file extension and none of the graphics programs I have seem to recognize it. I'm assuming I need to convert them to .jpg files. Any suggestions on a program to use?

PadresFan,

You are more than welcome to host my "MVP 2005" set, as well as make them available to the ActionPC and PureSim peeps:

http://65.78.148.37/ootp/Stadiums/EJ...05%20Parks.zip

I'm pretty sure that that .ZIP contains BMP files, since they were originally made for OOTP 5/6.

Of course, now that I try to check, the link seems to be not responding. If you're interested, PM me and I can send you the files (I have them around here somewhere).

Green - You are trying to open .prk files which are specific to PureSim Baseball, you just need the .jpg files. You can either grab the photos from the other site for Action PC Baseball, or wait for me to post the files specifically for OOTP.
